My house
I'm pretty proud of how I've transformed my house so far. The first column of photos is the state of the house when I bought it, and the second (sometimes also the third) column is the same shot taken a few months later. Some of the shots I took I don't have a "before" version for, and they show up in the first column, but they're pretty obvious.

Well, I'm pretty much done all the major projects. Let's see, this is what I've managed to accomplish since August:
- Had a new roof put on
- Upgraded the service line, got a breaker box to replace the fusebox and added an outline in the kitchen
- New hot water heater
- Removed carpeting from downstairs and upstairs
- Refinished the floors in living room and dining room, and two bedrooms and hallway
- Tore down the suspended ceilings in the two bedrooms and patched up the plaster underneath
- Painted the living room, dining room, hallway, two bedrooms, attic stairs and bathroom, in my various crazy stripey designs
- Built out a shower and tiled the walls and floor of the bathroom -- okay, so I hired Felix (Felix's Contracting, 412-953-9728) to do a lot of the work here, but I contributed a fair share doing the prep work and then working with him, and Stuart even helped a bunch, too
- Tore out all the enormous overgrown shrubs clogging up the yard
- Hired Jeff Barricella (Jeff's Contracting, 724-531-3195) to pull out the sidewalk that was taking up space in the back yard... that was fun to watch
- Removed all the rocks that were the footing for the sidewalk, regraded the yard and built some retaining walls
- Planted my garden and berries and seeded myself a new lawn
That leaves just a bunch of smaller projects for this summer, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!
